ADDITIONAL POD SITES TO OPEN IN SPRING, TOMBALL TOMORROW MORNING

September 18, 2008

SPRING – Representative Debbie Riddle, in collaboration with several other state and local officials, local businesses, and charitable organizations, has announced the opening of two additional POD sites effective tomorrow (Thursday) morning.

Ice and water will be available starting at 9:00AM at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Spring.  The address for the church is 1612 Meadow Edge, Spring, Texas, 77388, which is located approximately just off the Holtzwarth Exit off I-45.  At this time, only ice and water will be available at this location.

This delivery has been made possible by a collaboration between Riddle, Representative Patricia Harless, Senator Dan Patrick, County Judge Ed Emmett,  the Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce, Nourish America, and the Resurrection Lutheran Church.

Additionally, a site will be open in Tomball tomorrow morning at 10:00AM at the Office Depot located at the intersection of 249 and 2920.  The site will have supplies of vitamin water, nutrition bars, and hygienic supplies, but no ice.  This site was produced by a collaboration of Riddle, Harless, Patrick, Nourish America, the National Federation of Women Legislators, and the Tomball Chamber of commerce.

“I am very grateful to everyone who has helped make this relief effort possible,” Riddle said.  “I think a lot of us in the Spring area have felt neglected and maybe a little forgotten, even though we know that everyone is need right now.  Hopefully, these supplies will provide some much needed relief to the people who are hurting right here.”

Volunteers are needed to help distribute the supplies in Spring tomorrow.  Please contact the Houston Area Northwest Chamber of Commerce at 281-440-4160.  For information on how to volunteer at the Tomball site tomorrow morning, please contact Jon English in Representative Debbie Riddle’s Austin office at 512-463-0572.
