Mercer Arboretum & Botanic Gardens Presents an Orchid & Tropical Symposium

Discover a wide variety of plants that can take the heat during Mercer Arboretum & Botanic Garden’s 2011 Orchid & Tropical Symposium. This symposium offers the perfect opportunity to learn about the best types of plants needed to create a tropical-looking garden. With  a focus on orchids, ferns, bromeliads and more, this event concentrates on the tropical plants that flourish despite the extreme weather common to this area. A $75 workshop fee includes admission to the presentations, handouts, lunch, entrance to the plant sale, and a tour of Mercer’s tropical garden.

Mercer Arboretum & Botanic Gardens, a Harris County Precinct 4 facility under the leadership of Commissioner Jerry Eversole, is located at 22306 Aldine Westfield Road, one mile north of FM 1960. Harris County Precinct 4 programs serve people of all ages regardless of socioeconomic level, race, sex, religion, national origin, or physical ability.
