Register Now for YMCA Fall Youth Sports

August 16, 2011

Each athlete is treated as an equal and plays in every game.

Youth SoccerAt the South  Montgomery County  YMCA, every child is a winner, is treated as an equal and plays in every game. There are no bench
warmers.  This is what makes Y Youth Sports so unique and special. We are so much more than how many points are scored or who is winning the game.

The Y Youth Sports Program encourages and promotes healthy and strong kids, families and communities by placing a priority on family involvement, healthy competition rather than rivalry, the value of participation over winning, team building as well as individual development, a positive self image and a sense of fair play & mutual respect for others. Caring adult coaches and volunteers create an asset rich environment in which children learn and practice the core values of responsibility, honesty, respect, caring and faith. YMCA Youth Sports programs are a great start to a lifetime of fitness and values.

New Student Registration Schedule and Requirements

August 2, 2011

Houston – July 27, 2011 – Spring ISD has been preparing for increasing numbers of new students to enroll this school year. Parents or legal guardians who are needing to register a student who did not complete the 2010-11 school year in a Spring ISD school will need to accompany the student to the school for registration and provide the information listed below. Spring ISD will hold early registration for students new to the district from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 8, 10 and 12 and from noon to 7 p.m. Aug. 9 and 11.

“The district has scheduled the week of Aug. 8-12, including a couple of evenings, to focus on new student registration, but we won’t turn anyone away if they are unable to make it to their child’s school during that time. Schools will be registering students daily before the start of school on Aug. 24, and we are hoping parents will take advantage of this opportunity to register early and not wait until the first day of school,” said Ann Sandoval, Spring ISD area superintendent.

Enrollment Record Requirements:

• Certified copy of birth certificate or passport

• Current immunization record signed by a physician or physician’s designee

• Proof of residence in Spring ISD (natural gas or electric bill or original lease agreement)

• Social Security Card (if available; if not the student will be assigned a State ID number)

• Legal guardian’s drivers license or department of transportation ID card ( if parent or guardian is not a licensed driver in Texas nor has the person obtained a TXDOT ID card, other photo ID will be considered in combination with a birth certificate)

• Most recent report card/withdrawal form from previous school

• High School transcript (if applicable)

Registration packets may be picked up at the schools during regular school hours starting August 1. For more information, go online to www.springisd.org, call the school where your child will be attending or call the Gordon M. Anderson Leadership Center at 281-891-6000.
