Above & Beyond Announces Annual Health and Wellness Day

Spring, Texas. Pastor William J. Lindsey announced today that Above & Beyond Fellowship will host the Annual Health and Wellness Day on Saturday, January 19, 2013, from 9:30 am to 2:00pm at 3315 Spring-Cypress Road, Spring, Texas 77388.

The Health Day theme Every BODY Counts is a reminder of ABF’s Health Ministry and the value of good diet and exercise for a healthy, Christian lifestyle.

The Health Day will feature multiple”free” screenings, including Blood Pressure checks, BMI (Body Mass Index) measurements, Cholesterol Screenings, Joint Pain screening, Line Dance exercises, Massage and Skin Analysis, and other diet and nutrition presentations, exercises and fitness demonstrations.

Immunizations will be given, requiring a small fee of $20 for adults and just $5 for children under 12 years old. Order forms for T-Shirts ($11.00) and/or Polo Shirts ($20.00) with Every BODY Counts” symbol, commemorating this inaugural event, will be available at each ABF Worship Service beginning Sunday, December 23. 

Volunteer are welcomed and needed. Nurses, Pharmacist, Medical Doctors, Dentists, Chiropractors, Fitness Instructors and all ABF Members can be an integral part of this worth event for the Kingdom. Contact ABF or call the Health Fair Coordinator, Jeffield Jefferson at 713.344.0817.

Tiger Marketplace Moving Indoors

The Klein Collins XC and Track Programs are seeking vendors

Spring, Texas, December 24, 2012. The Tiger Marketplace held in conjunction with the 5th Annual Junior Tiger Fun Run is moving indoors into the Klein Collins small gymnasium.

According to David Windsor, Event Director, “vendors have signed up to promote programs, sell jewelry, accessories, and health care products”.

They include Paparazzi By LMC, Healthy Teacher JuicePlus+, H-E-B Spring Market and Texas Stallions Track Club.

The market will operate from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on January 26th, and will feature a silent auction sponsored by the KC XC Track Booster Club.

With just a little over 3 weeks in between the Tiger Marketplace and Valentine’s Day, this is the perfect time for vendors to promote their gift ideas for sweethearts. The community is invited to come out and support our local businesses as well as run in our fun run. There is a 2K race for K -2nd and 3rd -4th, as well as a 3K for 5th – 6th and Mom and Dad. Early registration ends on January 10th.

Date Set for Texas Stallions Youth Outdoor Track and Field Information Briefing

Texas Stallions Track ClubSPRING – (November 27, 2012) – The Texas Stallions Track Club will host information meeting for its youth outdoor track and field season on February 7, 2013, at 6 p.m. in the B. F. Clark Community Building at Southwell Park, located at 27419 Nelson St, Spring, Texas 77373. Light refreshments and registration begin at 5:45 p.m. Prospective athletes and their parents will receive an overview of the sport, team philosophies, and the season may. There will also be an opportunity to visit with the coaches and obtain information and have your questions answered about participating in the Spring/Summer season of track and field.

The Stallions is a youth track and field program that develops youth runners, jumpers, and throwers and emphasizes the importance of fitness, a healthy lifestyle, and living a life of “Dedication, Determination and Discipline”!  The Stallions offers youth athlete ages 6 – 18 the opportunity to learn about and train in different events in track and field and provides the opportunity to compete on a local, regional and national level.

Tiger Marketplace Planned at 5th Annual Junior Tiger Fun Run – Vendors Wanted

HEB Spring BuddySpring, Texas, November 27, 2012. With just a little over 3 weeks in between the Junior Tiger Fun Run and Valentine’s Day, The KCXC and Track Booster Club is expanding their silent auction to include a Marketplace during the fun run.

The Tiger Marketplace will provide an opportunity for local craftspeople and vendors to sell their wares, and for the community to purchase unique, commercial and hand-made items and gift baskets.

The parents and athletes of the Klein Collins High School Cross Country and Track Programs, are looking for any vendor, artist or nonprofit agency who would like to showcase their business by purchasing a booth at 2013 Junior Tiger Fun Run and Tiger Marketplace!

The Tiger Marketplace will be held Saturday, January 26, from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. on. Vendors and auction donation items are welcome.

Spring, Texas, November 4, 2012. The Klein Collins Cross Country and Track and Field Programs are pleased to announce that the 5th annual Junior Tiger Fun Run will take place on January 26, 2013. The successful event that benefits KCHS’ track and field and cross country programs is bringing a new twist to the fun run this year—a 3K for Moms and Dads!

“Each year the Fun Run has been growing in participation,” said Booster Club President, Greg Miller, “even drawing runners from across the state”.

“As with previous years, the fun run will feature three mixed races for girls and boys in K – 2nd, 3rd – 4th, and 5th – 6th Grades. However, this year we are giving mom and dad a chance to get in on the action, said Fun Run Director, David Windsor”. A fourth race will be added, the parents 3K. Medals will be awarded to the top five males and top five females in each race”.

The event will take place on January 26, 2013 at Klein Collins High School Track. Registration is now open online at http://www.kcxctrack.com. Cost is $15 children and $20 adults, and $20/$25 for late and race day. The first 150 runners registering for the event will receive a free T-shirt and goodie bag. All proceeds from the Fun Run benefit the Klein Collins boys and girls Cross Country and Track Programs.

Youth Indoor Track & Field Registration Open

Come Run, Jump and Throw with us Indoors!

SPRING – (November 4, 2012) – Texas Stallions Track Club is taking registration for its 2013 youth indoor track and field season. Like the standard outdoor track and field competitions, indoor track and field is a sport made up of various running, jumping, and throwing events. However a fewer number of events are competed in an indoor stadium, typically equipped with a 200 meter oval track, 60m straightway, and space for the long, triple, and high jumps, pole vault and the shot put.

The program is open to boys and girls in grades eighth through twelfth. Athletes will in compete in open events at collegiate meets. Competition begins in January 2013 and practices begin on Dec 8, 2012. All participants will receive a program T-shirt. Athletes will be required to wear competition shoes. Teams will be coached by volunteer coaches.

Date Set for 4th Annual Junior Tiger Fun Run

Spring, Texas. Race weekend for the Klein Collins Cross Country and Track and Field Programs 4th anniversary of the Jr. Tiger Fun Run has been set for the fourth week of January, with three 2K age division races scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m., Saturday, January 28, 2012.

 

“We’re in the planning phase for next year and in process of reviewing our efforts with the 2011 race,” said race director David Windsor. “Specifically, we are evaluating ways to increase participation and garner additional support from the community. It’s our goal to make each year the best one yet.”

 

Each year the Fun Run has been growing in participation. “The 2011 fun run drew record participation with more than 100 youth runners”, said Booster Club President, Greg Miller. “As with previous years, the fun run will feature three mixed races for girls and boys in K – 2nd, 3rd – 4th, and 5th – 6th Grades. Medals will be awarded to the top five boys and top five girls in each race”.

 

The Fun Run started out not only as a fundraiser for the school’s running programs but as “a way to encourage kids to be fit and healthy”, said Head Girls Track Coach, Vicki Bevan. “The goal is to make running fun”.

 

Prior to the start of each race there will be stretching and warm ups presented by Klein Collins Cross Country & Track teams. The KC Tigers will also accompany youth on their run, and lead them in cool down activities afterwards. Parents and community are invited to stay and “Meet the Tigers”, enjoy light refreshments and a silent auction. The first 150 youth registering for the event will receive a free T-shirt and goodie bag. There is a $15 entry fee. Medals will be awarded to the Top 5 girls and boys in each race. ICI Construction Coordinates $4,000 School Supply Donation

August 30, 2011

Houston – Aug. 29, 2011 – ICI Construction has had a long tradition of teaming up with business partners to help school districts where they have completed construction projects together. This help came to Spring ISD this year in the form of a $4,000 donation of school supplies for children who could not afford to purchase supplies for themselves. The 237 school supply packs will be divided between 15 Spring ISD elementary schools.

“ICI’s motivation is to give back to the communities who trust us to build their schools.  We are excited at the opportunity to help area students acquire the tools to succeed in getting a great education,” said Bart Cobb, ICI Construction vice president and project manager.

ICI Construction and its business partners who shared in this donation, Big 4 Steel Services LP and Premium Roofing Systems LLC, recently completed work on  the Spring ISD Child Nutrition and Training Center.
